Nafseyya

Space to Heal, Reflect, and Reclaim

Therapy, counseling, and consultancy rooted in a decolonial, culturally grounded approach to mental health — for individuals and organizations across the Global South.

About Me image
Hi, I'm Arij Bou Reslan, founder of Nafseyya and an integrative psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience. I'm originally from Lebanon, and I've worked across a wide range of populations — refugees, displaced persons, survivors of trauma, and communities navigating the intersection of mental health, culture, and identity.
My work is grounded in a simple belief: there's no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. Nafseyya is also my response to something bigger — a space to question Western-centric models of care, reclaim culturally rooted practices, and amplify voices from the Global South.
I'm a registered member of LOPSY, BACP, and BPS, and I serve as an Approved Practicum Supervisor for MA students at Yorkville University.

Nafs — an Arabic word meaning spirit, body, sense of being. Nafseyya is a space where individual healing meets collective reflection: a reflective hub for practitioners from the Global South to converse, question dominant frameworks, and explore grounded approaches to mental health

24 hour Notice for Cancellation

I serve many clients and strive to respect everyone’s time and needs. To help maintain this balance, I ask that you take responsibility for arriving on time and notifying me at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to attend your session.
If you fail to provide sufficient notice, you may be charged the full session fee, even if you miss the session entirely or attend only part of it. That said, I understand that illness and urgent life circumstances can arise unexpectedly. In such cases, I will make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
